I, Robot (Alex Proyas) - 2004

The year is 2035.  There are one billion robots in the world and nobody has to take out their own trash.  The biggest corporation is USR and its CEO (Bruce Greenwood) is richer and more powerful than Bill Gates.  However, there is a big problem.  The robots are starting to make robots.  Fortunately for the biological world, Will (Indiana) Smith is on the job.  Hundreds of rogue robots are no match for Will's unlimited supply of bullets and his robotic arm.  The special effects are excellent but the storyline is not.  This, of course, is not the story that Isaac Asimov (1920-1992) wrote in 1950.  [JAM 12/17/2009]
