Mad #492 (John Ficarra) - Calvin and Jobs Issue - August 2008

In this issue, Mad artist Gary Hallgren revives the great Mad tradition of comic strip parody.  Hallgren joins Mad greats Wally Wood, Will Elder et al. with his perfect rendition of the Calvin and Hobbes strip by Bill Watterson.  Writer Jacob Lambert delivers eight humorous situations with Steve Jobs (1955-2011) replacing Calvin's toy tiger.  The other excellent parody in the issue is "Sucker City" by Scott Maiko and Scott Bricher.  This Circuit City catalog parody tells the truth about electronic gadgets that all too soon become electronic waste.  Also, there are a bunch of jokes about the subjects of current super-hero movies.  More of the same.  [JAM 12/12/2014]
