Mad #304 (Nick Meglin and John Ficarra) - Goose Madonna Issue - July 1991

Canadian artist Richard Williams has drawn 62 covers for Mad (through December 2007).  For this issue, he drew the lovely Madonna getting a reach-around (the hard way) from Alfred E. Neuman.  The cover was based on an idea by Paul Sollicito who apparently never had an other idea.  Inside, Mort Drucker drew Ms. Ciccione and others for "A Mad Peek Behind the Scenes at a Madonna Video" by associate editors Charlie Kadau and Joe Raiola.  The better article was "Deadwood Scissorham" but Dick DeBartolo's movie parody of Edward Scissorhands seems to fizzle at the end.  The drawings by Angelo Torres save the article with guest appearances by Frankenstein's monster, Michael Jackson, Freddie Krueger, Big Bird, Sinead O'Connor, the Simpsons, Dan Quayle and Robocop.  I like the police lineup with the clippers, the Swiss army knife and the electric mixer.  It was a good parody but I just needed a better ending.
